12/22/21, Las Vegas, NV. ...Justin Tillman was the most efficient player during the final day of basketball action at the NBA G-League Winter Showcase. The College Park Skyhawks' BIG, scored 24 points (11-13 FG, 1-1 FT) and corralled 15 rebounds to go with two blocked shots in a 141-89 blowout of the Texas Legends. Tillman played only 25 minutes.

G-League Winter Showcase Day One

12/19/2021 ...Las Vegas NV.  ...The NBA G- League tipped off their Winter Showcase Sunday with a seven-game slate highlighted by a chance to see the G-League Ignite team. All games were played at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The Ignite squad comprised of NBA Draft hopefuls and seasoned pros won 123-106 over the Grand Rapids Gold. The Ignite closed the game with all the young prospects on the floor, defeating a Gold team that included NBA veterans Nik Stauskas, Mario Chalmers and Lance Stephenson.

The 2021 NBA Las Vegas Summer League closed Tuesday with the Sacramento Kings (pictured below) crushing the Boston Celtics 100-67 in the Championship game. Individually, it was a good day for Matt Morgan of the Toronto Raptors. The undrafted guard (2019) currently plays for the Raptors G-League team, (The 905). The Golden State Warriors rookie was the 14th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Moody scored 22 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3-pt., 3-3 FT), and added two steals in 23 minutes. The Warriors beat the summer version of the Oklahoma City Thunder, 94-84.

Miami beat Memphis on a Max Strus deep three-pointer. Utah earned a victory over Dallas with a sudden death free throw made by Trent Forrest.

McBride's performance, however, upstaged the fantastic finishes. The New York Knicks 2021 second round pick (36th overall) scored 22 points (7-9 FG, 6-6 3-pt., 2-2 FT), while grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing five assists in 28 minutes off the bench. Nesmith puts on shooting display on day three

Aaron Nesmith (pictured below) was the most efficient player on the third day of play in the 2021 NBA Las Vegas Summer League. Nesmith scored 33 points (13-18 FG, 7-9 3-pt.) while grabbing seven rebounds in the Boston Celtics 107-82 victory over the Denver Nuggets.  The second year pro looked every bit like the sniper he was in college in 2019-20.

Seven games were contested on the opening day of action in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League. Blakeney scored 27 points in just 18 minutes. He shot 9-10 FG, 2-3 3-pt., and 7-7 FT in the Blazers victory over Charlotte. ...All games were played on the UNLV campus. ...The Washington / Indiana game was canceled due to issues with Covid for the Wizards. Also noteworthy was the rolled left ankle for Josh Giddey (video below), a 2021 Oklahoma City lottery pick. He started, and played five minutes before the injury.
