08/08/21 - Las Vegas, NV. ...Antonio Blakeney of the Portland Trailblazers was the most efficient player on a winning team, earning Hoop Obsession Player of the Day honors. Seven games were contested on the opening day of action in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League. Blakeney scored 27 points in just 18 minutes. He shot 9-10 FG, 2-3 3-pt., and 7-7 FT in the Blazers victory over Charlotte. ...All games were played on the UNLV campus. ...The Washington / Indiana game was canceled due to issues with Covid for the Wizards. Also noteworthy was the rolled left ankle for Josh Giddey (video below), a 2021 Oklahoma City lottery pick. He started, and played five minutes before the injury.
